At 24 years of age, in May 2012, I began to teach myself how to draw. In my teens I dabbled, but nothing too serious.
In effort to being open about my progression and methods, my first As can been seen in my pieces to date, the first 7 drawings were created were are targeting specific methods in order to improve techniques and correct things I wasn't happy with previously. The improvement was quantifiable and addictive.  Being shortlisted for the Sky Arts portrait competition really pushed me in 2013.
Progression slowed from that, as leaps in progress are nearly more technical in nature.  For example, understanding the compounds of pencils and paper surfaces to improve the effects of metallic paints took 2 weeks to even understand. That being said there are still moments that are exciting and ultimately extremely rewarding when a piece is complete.
Anyway, that's enough chit chat from me. Thanks for visiting and hope you enjoy my work,
Adrian
